Panthers upset 49ers

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton

The 5-2 Carolina panthers were playing the nearly super bowl champions San Francisco 49ers.                                                                                                                                                                           The Panthers are looking like they will have the best season they will have for a while, coming off a 7-9 season in 2012.                                                                                                                                                                           The 49ers got off to a 9-0 lead in the first half, but at the end of the second quarter DeAngelo Williams had an awesome 30 yard run to the end zone, breaking 2 tackles and diving into the end zone.                                                                                                                                                                                                After a battle of the defenses in the third quarter, with lots of third and outs, the panthers were finally able to pull off a field goal in the fourth, to give them the 10-9 lead. It stayed like that for the rest of the game, giving the Panthers the win.                                                                                                     \If you have either of these defenses on your fantasy team, then you are in good shape. The Panthers' defense got 16 points and the 49ers got 13.                                                                                                                                               If you had anyone else on these teams though, then you're not in that great shape. In any of the last few years, this would be a major upset, but that game gave the Panthers and 49ers an equal record this year. Heisman trophy winning third year quarterback Cam Newton is finally starting to get his groove in the NFL. The Panthers are definitely a playoff prospect this year.the NFL.
